How to plan a holiday in the country?
Planning a vacation is always associated with a number of issues to attend to. Some of them are more and the other less important, however, that the holiday was unforgettable for us, we take care of all of them. Organizing holidays in Poland, we should first of all think of a good accommodation and match its form to our requirements and capabilities. For some, the best solution will be hotels, others choose rather pensions and always worth checking what can be found in a particular place. Not everywhere we can find luxury accommodation, so it is wise to check this before. Besides accommodation, a very important issue is also the transport and attractions on-site, and if you take care of it all, our vacation will be great.
Tatra National Park
Tatra National Park (Polish: Tatrzański Park Narodowy; abbr. TPN) is a National Park located in the Tatra Mountains in Tatra County, in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship?Małopolska region, in central-southern Poland bordering on northern Slovakia.1
The Park has its headquarters in the town of Zakopane. There is a similar national park in the adjoining part of Slovakia, also called the Tatra National Park Tatranský národný park.
The area of the Tatra mountains was exploited by human activities in the past. During summer numerous herds of animals (such as goats, sheep, and cows) pastured on the meadows and these practices caused erosion processes. In the 18th and 19th centuries several mines and ironworks were built here, industries that used substantial harvests of local timber.
Current environmental threats include: the proximity of the fast-developing town of Zakopane; and air pollution from the industrial zones in Kraków, Ostrava, and Orava. Fauna is threatened by poachers and habitat loss.
The high number of tourists is the largest threat to Park?s ecosystem currently. Also, the infrastructure, such as hotels and car parks, is not sufficient for the current volume of visitors.
Walk through the mountains
May weekend is one of the first opportunities for short tourist trips. Picnic can spend not only a home barbecue, but also for mountain walks or visiting Polish monuments of nature, and above all walks of large parks and greenery around the beautiful lakes. This way you can not only eat well, but also to spend time in the fresh air and the opportunity to see the history of Polish tourism. Weather in early May is sometimes different, but certainly much more conducive to family walks in the mountains, than the weather prevailing during the cold weather. In contrast, people who visit the large parks, may in designated areas also organize family camping.
